The Transition House, Inc.’s Veterans Program is designed to engage homeless veterans and guide them towards independence through employment and permanent housing using the Veterans Administration Grant and Per Diem funding. Temporary emergency shelter services are also available.
We offer services to male veterans, and our facility can host 40 male veterans. This program is for veterans that may or may not have been involved with the judicial system and those with disabilities.
We know that homelessness can be difficult to overcome, and our staff and community of veterans can support you and help you regain your independence. The Transition House, Inc. focuses on a resident-centered and resident-friendly environment. We can help you access your level of Veterans Administration benefits and, when possible, receive medical care at the local VA hospital or clinic. We will help you develop and accomplish your goals in a setting that makes you feel like a part of the community.

Residents will be introduced to partners within the community such as Home Builders Institute (HBI) where they receive training in all facets of facilities maintenance and general construction, including carpentry, electrical wiring, HVAC, painting, plumbing and weatherization and can be certified OSHA 10. Program graduates earn an industry-sponsored and validated pre-apprenticeship credential. In addition, The Transition House, Inc. partners with Career Source of Central Florida, Goodwill Industries and other organizations to assist with skill development, interviewing skills and employment opportunities.
The Transition House, Inc. partners with other community agencies and our residents are encouraged to volunteer in the community with organizations including the local Chamber of Commerce, the local Food Pantry and many more.
